This is only a small representation of more than fifty years of photographic work created by Robert D’Amore. The images presented here are drawn from the limited digital files that remain, and some are necessarily reproduced at low resolution.

On October 24, 2019, a devastating fire in Baja California destroyed Robert’s home and the archive he had built over a lifetime. All of his original negatives were lost. Before fleeing the home and hillside where he had lived for thirty years, he saved as many photographic prints as he could.

The loss is immeasurable. Much of Robert’s work—perhaps three-quarters of his photographic archive—had never been printed or publicly seen. Throughout his life, limited financial resources often prevented him from producing and exhibiting the full body of work he had created.
